Description
The Museum of the Charlatan, placed among the twelve museums of the Ecomuseum of the Apennines of Umbria established and designed by Cedrav, is housed in the complex of St. Nicola, a former Augustinian monastic settlement. The area, once occupied by the church dedicated to the patron saint of Cerreto di Spoleto, was placed in open-air theater, the old cloister and some monastic spaces are meant to workshops and exhibitions. The museum aims to illustrate the figure of the charlatan, and to document the manifestations of popular theater and street performances, with revisions and reworkings.
